Knyt is a knitting app from Amöba, a digital agency in Stockholm. It turns the patterns you already own, as PDFs, printouts or photos, into something you can knit from directly: one size at a time, step by step, with your row count saved. Around the app we publish guides in Discover. Later we will open a marketplace for independent designers.
Knyt is made by Amöba, a digital agency in Stockholm. We have built digital products for fifteen years, and the people behind Knyt are knitters themselves.
We knit on the tram, on the sofa and at the summer house, and we kept running into the same problems. A pattern is a PDF with five sizes in every line. The chart blurs when you zoom in on your phone. The row count is a pencil mark on a receipt that gets lost in the yarn bag.
We wanted one place for all of it. We could not find it, so we built Knyt.
In Swedish, knyt means tie, as in tying a knot. Said in English, it sounds like knit. The double meaning is deliberate.
The pattern shows your size and the step you are on.
What you bring into Knyt stays private. We never sell it or use it to train AI.
A knitted sweater is worn for years and can be mended. Knyt helps you finish what you start and knit from the patterns and yarn you already have.
Knitting is centuries old. The software around it can be new.
